Frequently Asked Questions...

What does Wyrles Xpres do?
Our mission at Wyrles Xpres is to provide high speed, broadband, interactive communications for Rural America.

When you say high speed…how fast is fast?
Wyrles Xpres provides a number of packages ranging in speeds from 64 Kbps to 600 Kbps of service to a customer depending on the service selected. More bandwidth is available as needed.

What do you use to deliver the data?
Wyrles Xprers uses broadband spread spectrum frequency hopping to deliver signal within a community and microwave frequencies to deliver the signal between communities.

What equipment does a customer need to receive the signal?
The residential customer utilizes a receiver and transmitter at their location that translates data from the PC into radio signals that the antenna can interpret.

What is included in the setup equipment?
The startup kit includes, antenna, radio and 100' of wiring.

What are the additional costs?
Customers will need to purchase a 10/100 network card. These are inexpensive, @$10-$15. Additional antenna mountings or extensions may be needed to get a clear line of sight. Additional e-mail accounts can be purchased for $4.00 per month.

Does this system require a clear line of sight from the local site antenna to the user?
The closer you are to the base antenna, then "line of sight" is not as critical. The farther you are, it becomes more important. The technology can reach a customer 9 miles away or farther from the base antenna, provided that there is a clear line of sight between the base antenna and receiver/transmitter of the customer.

Is the Wyrles Xpres service affected by adverse weather such as heavy rains or snow?
Unlike Ku band satellite technology (the technology used with most entertainment satellites), Wyrles Xpres uses high frequency radio waves, which are not affected by heavy rains or snows.
